Uzbek Deputy Minister of Justice Muzlav. Muzraf Ikramov and Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), signed a memorandum of understanding to join the WIPO ALERT platform. One of the goals of the platform is to stop the operation of piracy websites that profit from advertising, compile a list of websites that violate copyright and make it available to advertising agencies and businessmen in member states that have joined the platform.

Participants also discussed emerging issues, solutions and possible future cooperation in the field of intellectual property. Iklamov introduced the value of intellectual property in Uzbekistan, current trends and developments in this field, including the prospects of young people, women and business owners, and Deng Hongsen also expressed his willingness to assist Uzbekistan in this effort, noting that the current national policy on youth, women and entrepreneurs is in line with the goals set out by WIPO.

To prevent customers from placing ads on bad websites, unknowingly supporting infringement, and jeopardizing a brand's reputation, WIPO ALERT provides advertisers, AD agencies, and ad-tech intermediaries with access to a consolidated list of suspected infringing websites around the world provided by national agencies. The platform is available in the following languages: Chinese, English, French, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese. (Compiled from www.asiaiplaw.com)
