According to a notice on the official website of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), since December 29, 2022, the USPTO has reduced the patent fees for small entities and micro-entities.

To encourage innovation and reduce the cost burden on patent applicants, the United States Patent and Trademark Office provides different fee discounts to applicants from different entities. The reduction rate of patent fees for small entities has been adjusted from 50% to 60%, and the reduction rate of patent fees for micro-entities has been adjusted from 75% to 80%.
